In known gypsum mixers, water and gypsum powder are mixed by a rotor disc. In this process, gypsum slurry which passes under the rotor disc, sets and passes into the panels causes malfunctions in the production sequence and quality reductions in the finished gypsum panels. The aim of the invention is completely to prevent the penetration of the gypsum slurry under the rotor disc without maintenance outlay. In the housing base (13) of the mixer, there is disposed a meterable water feed line (15) through which a portion of the mixing water flows outwards under the rotor disc (3). The water is distributed uniformly between the housing base (13) and rotor disc (3) by a labyrinthine constriction (17) of the interspace, so that the rotor disc (3) is floatingly mounted.
