In order to keep a cleaning roller in fabric-web production clear of fluff and other particles without considerable outlay in terms of production and operation and without obstructing the view of the cleaning roller, there is provided a suction pipe which is movable parallel to the axis of the cleaning roller and which possesses a suction mouth which reaches as far as the circumference of the cleaning roller and the width of which is small in relation to the roller length in the longitudinal direction of the roller.
