ESR tissue cell

The invention relates to an improved ESR tissue cell for the spectroscopic measurement of naturally occurring and/or artificially introduced paramagnetic species in water-containing animal or plant tissue samples at room temperature for uses in biotechnology, medicine, pharmacology and plant physiology. The ESR tissue cell according to the invention consists of the tissue carrier with cover plate and two rods. Each is fabricated from a different material. Quartz plates and mounting are designed to be mechanically separate. This considerably reduces the manufacturing costs. The elastic clamping lock of the quartz plates simplifies sample changing and cleaning of the ESR tissue cell. Mounting on one side, e.g. in the H102 resonator, facilitates manipulation and reduces the risk of breakage.
