The setting device operated by explosive force has a holder (6) in which nails (14) and barrels (7) containing powder charges (17) are displaceably arranged. The holder (6) is mounted to be rotatable relative to a device part (1) constructed as a housing. Provided in the device part (1) is an axially displaceable mouth tube (21) and also, coaxially with the latter, a bore (22) in which a closure piece (25) is displaceably arranged. By turning the holder (6), one of the barrels (7) can be selectively introduced coaxially between the mouth tube (21) and the closure piece (25). By means of the mouth tube (21), the introduced barrel (7) can be inserted into the bore (22) to attain the position of detonation readiness. <IMAGE>
