In the case of a rectangular base frame joined together by means of profiled rails, for constructing a framework structure, the base frames being connected to one another with the aid of connecting elements and the connecting elements consisting of a piece of flat material whose long sides are provided with rib-shaped projections, complementary to grooves in the profiled rails, the projections are formed by in each case two hemispheres which are resiliently locked in the flat material relative to one another. Consequently, a simple and firmly holding clip or spring connection between the profiled rails of a plurality of base frames to be connected to one another can be achieved. <IMAGE>
