The table for a vertical turning and boring mill contains a trunnion (2) which is fastened to a foot (1) by means of a flange (14) which is pressed into an annular groove made in the foot. The spindle (3) sits with its bearing surface (6) on a guide (7) which is made on the top end face of the trunnion (2), in the bottom end face of which hollow spaces (10) are formed. The hollow spaces (5) and (10) lie symmetrically opposite one another. A pressure ring (9) is rigidly fastened to the bottom end face of the spindle (3) and is thus attached under the trunnion (2) in such a way that the hollow spaces (10) are closed. <IMAGE>
