The invention relates to a device for combating pests which, in particular, attack objects consisting of plant or animal material. It consists of a container, having a high- (radio-) frequency generator, e.g. a magnetron, for accommodating the objects. The walls of the container which surround the objects are opaque to radiation, and the volume of the container, which is defined by the walls, can be varied.
