PURPOSE:To completely remove adhesive matter, by inserting a supporting beam to which a swinging means is attached into an opened manhole at the top of a blast furnace, suspending a rod in freely liftable manner to which a bit is attached from the swinging member of said swinging means, and connecting said bit from the opened part of a shell through a coupling member to a driving means. CONSTITUTION:A manhole 3 at the top of furnace a is opened to insert a supporting beam 2 to which a swinging means 1 is attached into the furnace. Since a rod 6 into which a bit 5 is inserted is attached to the swinging member 4 of the swinging means 1 with wires 14 as a guide, said rod is inserted together with the supporting beam 2 in the furnace. Since an opened part 8 is previously provided at a shell 7 corresponding to a position from which adhesive matter is to be removed, the rod 6 is lowered down to said position, and the bit 5 is connected through a coupling member 9 to a driving means 10. Hence, a drifter is driven to perform the removal of the matter 20 adherent onto the furnance wall with the bit 5. |
