<p>The method relates to the packaging of lids cut out in a stacking press. According to this method, the guide rods of the discharge magazine are covered with a substantially cylindrical box portion (31), this portion (31) simultaneously encasing the stack of lids while immobilising it transversely relative to this portion (31), with a slight clearance, this portion comprising means (32 and 33) bearing on the movable supports of the bottom of the stack of lids and stop means (34, 35) of the bottom of the stack carried by the said portion (31). These stop means (34) are optionally supplemented by one or more associated stop means. The stack of lids thus covered is then removed from the discharge magazine and the box portion (31) is covered with lids which complete the protective box.
<??>The invention also relates to the packaging box used and the packaging system which preferably comprises a pre-stacking and counting chamber for the lids.
<??>The packaging makes it possible to avoid any contamination of the lids between the time when they are cut out and the time of their use, for example for the packaging of foodstuffs.
