An immunological method for the determination of an analyte in a sample, in which at least one partner in the immunological reaction is dissolved by a carrier material, where the analyte-containing sample is incubated with a labelled analyte-analogous or analyte-specific partner, which is dissolved by a carrier material, in an immunological reaction, is contacted with an excess of the analyte-specific partner in an immunological reaction, or is contacted with an excess of the analyte to be determined in carrier-bound form, the bound and the free portion of the resulting immune complexes are separated, and the labelling in the free or bound portion is measured, is characterised in that the carrier material additionally contains a detectable substance which does not influence the immunological reaction and which is eluted together with the partner in the immunological reaction, and a measurement which is characteristic of the concentration of the detectable substance in the solution is related to the measurement for the analyte concentration in the sample. <IMAGE>
