The invention relates to cartridge ammunition with a combustible case for machine guns, especially for automatic weapons with high firing rates.
<??>Ammunition for automatic weapons is exposed to high loads, such as impact, bending, tensile and compressive stresses, when being fed into the weapon. It must also be possible for these loads to be withstood reliably by cartridges with a combustible case, which are substantially more sensitive than ammunition with a metal case, in order for example, to prevent the projectile from breaking out of the case and associated faults in the weapon functioning.
<??>Known ammunition of this type has a plurality of threaded auxiliary elements, such as a conical neck part and a connecting intermediate ring between the projectile and case, and is cost-intensive and involves a high outlay in terms of production. The invention provides a cartridge ammunition which can be produced simply and cost-effectively, the case 12 consisting of three prefabricated and assembled individual parts, namely a front case cover 14, a cylindrical case jacket 15 and a rear case bottom 16 which are glued firmly to one another in their annular regions of contact.
