<p>(57) In the present publication, a device is described for two-sided coating of a running paper web (1). The device comprises an application device (2 to 5, 9 to 16) for spreading the coating material over both sides of the web (1) running through, as well as a first nip (6) formed by a rotating counter roll (8) and an levelling member (7), through which said first nip the coated web (2) is passed. According to the invention, the device includes an auxiliary roll (17), which is, in the direction of progress of the web (1), fitted at a certain distance (A) from the first nip (6) and which, together with the counter roll (8), forms a second nip (18) for the web (1) which has followed along with the said roll (8) over the said distance (A). The diameter of the auxiliary roll (17) is substantially smaller than the diameter of the counter roll (8), and the face of the auxiliary roll is substantially harder than that of the counter roll (8). By means of the invention, the risk of damaging the coating at the side of the web (1) facing the roll (8) can be reduced, because the web (1) is detached from the nip (18) formed between the rolls (8, 17).</p> |
