PURPOSE:To enable predetermined patterns to be added to a document with color discrimination and to be printed, by providing a printing means for printing combined images in at least two colors, and a designating means for designating at least one of a plurality of patterns stored in a storage means. CONSTITUTION:For example, in the case of printing on a printing paper 20 with approval stamps 21, 22, when it is judged that data designated and read from a document file is data indicative of an approval stamp, a corresponding pattern is read from an external storage device 4, and is transferred to an image memory 6b for printing in red. When it is judged that the read data is a character code, a corresponding pattern is read from a font memory, and is transferred to an image memory 6a for printing in black. Next, it is judged whether images for one page are transferred to patterns in the image memories 6a, 6b, and combination of image data is conducted, followed by printing the combined images. |
