PURPOSE:To prevent the dissipation of offensive smell and unburnt gas into a room, by a method wherein an opening is fully opened by a damper device upon fire put-out operation to retrieve the unburnt gas of a burner into an oil reserving tank through a communicating pipe. CONSTITUTION:Upon stopping combustion, a solenoid pump 16 is stopped at first to put fire out, then, a combustion motor 33 is stopped and a solenoid valve 32 is operated to close an opening 30 by the valve body 31 of a damper device 26 as shown by broken lines in a diagram and open another opening 28. On the other hand, an air supplying fan 27 is stopped quickly and another fan 12 for convection continues the operation thereof whereby an air pressure in a warm-air passage 11 becomes higher than the pressures in a burner 8 and an air supplying passage 10. Unburnt gas in an evaporating chamber 22 is not supplied to a burner head 24 and is retrieved into the upper space of an oil reserving tank 14 through the air supplying passage 10, the opening 28 and a communicating pipe 35, then, the unburnt gas is cooled there and is liquefied.
