PURPOSE:To make it possible to easily form base paper of stencil printing for a print ing press, by providing the base paper stuck to a main body of the base paper with a releasable glue with engaging hole-forming cutouts to be engaged with the base paper-engaging parts provided on a plate cylinder of the printing press, the cutouts being provided along a perforation. CONSTITUTION:A main body 1 of base paper for stencil printing is formed of a thermo plastic resin, e.g., a polyester resin. To prepare an original plate using the base paper, the base paper is so set that the thermoplastic synthetic resin film thereof is opposed to a thermal head. Since a part of mounting paper 3 and a porous supporter of the main body 1 of base paper are stuck to each other with a releasable glue 5, there is no possibility that the main body of the base paper may slip on the mounting paper at the time of line feeding on a thermal printer with the result of wrinkling. At the time of printing after the preparation of the original plate, the mounting paper 3 of the base paper 2 is released from the main body 1 of the base paper, and is separat ed by using a perforation 7. The remaining mounting paper is folded back to the upper side, and engaging hole-forming cutouts 11 are matched and pushed into enagement with engaging pins provided on a form cylinder, thereby completing the mounting of the base paper 2 to a printing press.
