PURPOSE:To obtain a bearing device having enough load ability without any high accurate processing by forming a static pressure bearing between a shaft and a member which is fitted to the shaft relatively rotatably and relatively holding the aforementioned shaft and member. CONSTITUTION:When a rotary sleeve 2 is rotated round a holding shaft 1, the fluid between opposite faces 3, 4 is rotated by viscosity so that pumping pressure is generated in spiral grooves 6 and fluid pressure on the upper end between cylindrical faces 3, 4 goes up to a high pressure level. The rotary sleeve 2 is floated against the end face of the holding shaft 1 and high pressure fluid is flows into a high pressure supplying passage 10 through the upper end of the holding shaft 1. The pumping pressure is supplied through the high pressure supplying passage 10 to circumferencial grooves 7a, 7b so that a circumferencial groove static pressure bearing is formed as a main bearing portion. As a result, enough load ability and stable rotation can be obtained.
