<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a coordinate input device for varying a ratio of a moving extent of a coordinate input device on a plane and a moving extent of a cursor on a picture plane by simple constitution, by providing a means for varying a rolling quantity by controlling physically rolling of a spherical body. CONSTITUTION:A freely movable case 4 which is operated manually, a spherical body 3 for abutting on a plane at one point and moving together with the case, and the rolling quantity of the spherical body 3 are detected by detectors 5 (5-1, 5-2) and outputted as data. The rolling quantity of the spherical body 3 is controlled physically by a switch 1. As the case 4 is operated manually on the plane, the spherical body 3 rolls. In such a case, when the switch 1 is depressed, a stopper 2 and the spherical body 3 come into contact with each other, and by its frictional force, the spherical body 3 slides on the plane, and as a result, the rolling quantity becomes smaller. Accordingly, a ratio of the moving extent of a cursor on the picture plane can be made small against the moving extent of a coordinate input device on the plane without adding a complicated electrical device to a detector 5.</p> |
