PURPOSE:To reduce the series resistance of electrodes for a ceramic chip capacitor, and to inhibit heat generation by forming a buried electrode and an exposed electrode of a noble metal, the weight ratio of Ag:Pd of which is kept within specific ranges respectively. CONSTITUTION:A buried electrode 6 in a ceramic dielectric 5 is formed of a noble metal consisting of the composition of Ag:Pd=70-0:30-100 at a weight ratio, and exposed electrodes 4, 4' are formed a noble metal composed of the composition of Ag:Pd=100-95:0-5. The buried electrode 6 is buried into the ceramic dielectric 5, and the first exposed electrode 4 electrically connected to the buried electrode 6 and the second exposed electrode 4' electrically insulated from the electrodes 6 and 4 and shaped onto at least one dielectric surface different from the first exposed electrode 4 are formed. Such a ceramic capacitor is manufactured by a method wherein the buried electrode is printed, superposed and compressed onto a green sheet, and baked, and Ag or Ag-Pd are applied onto edge faces, and stoved.
