PURPOSE:To reduce the data forming time for helical machining by relatively moving upper and lower guides with respect to a workpiece based on two wire passage data, set installing position and thickness of the workpiece, and guide positions. CONSTITUTION:A passage data for specifying the machining form of at least one of the upper and lower face of a workpiece, the rotating quantity of the upper and lower face forms, a wire diameter correcting quantity, the installing position and thickness of the workpiece, and guide positions are set by an inputting and setting means A. And, an offset treatment for obtaining a wire passage data from the passage data and the wire diameter correcting quantity is carried out by an offset treating means B. Then, the wire passage data on the other face is obtained from the wire passage data and the set rotating quantity by an auxiliary face passage data operating means C. And, upper and lower guides are relatively moved with respect to the workpiece based on these two wire passage data, the set installing position and thickness of the workpiece, and the guide positions to carry out helical machining. Thereby, the forming time of the machining data of a helical form can be reduced.
