PURPOSE:To perform the correct correction processing of color ghosts by outputting the color-separated color signals as the color code data and the density data and adding the color code data showing the texture into the color code data. CONSTITUTION:The color picture information on an original 52 is separated into two color separation images by a dichroic mirror 55 and supplied to the CCD 104 and 105 respectively. The picture signals received from both CCD 104 and 105 are supplied to a color separating circuit 35 via A/D converters 60 and 61 and gate circuits 30 and 31. The circuit 35 delivers the color code data showing colors and the density data and the color code data includes the color code data showing the texture. Then both color code and density data are processed by a color ghost correction means 300, an image resolution correction means 450, a partial color conversion means 500 and a binarization circuit 600B and supplied to an output device 700 via an interface circuit 40.
