Gas is dispensed from a heat insulated liquefied gas, e.g., oxygen container 18 through a service line 60 by forcing liquefied gas up a line 66 extending from near the container bottom to a point 72 above the normal full liquid level by the pressure exerted in the gas space and thence through a vaporizing coil 64 ; the pressure in the gas space being maintained by allowing a portion of the liquefied gas at a point 90 to fall under gravity down a line 92 to below the container bottom and through a second vaporizing coil 96 which discharges up a line 98 leading to the gas space. A check valve 94 prevents back flow of vapour from coil 96. Gas may also be withdrawn from the gas space of the container when the pressure therein overcomes a spring-loaded bellows 86 to open a valve 84 in a gas line 74 leading to the points 72, 90 and thence through a line 76, coil 64 and line 60. |
