This invention is that of a novel ultra high molecular weight polyethylene molding composition and a process for preparing and using said composition. The product of this invention is particularly suited for making porous, plastic products by the free-sintering method. The product of this invention is prepared by compacting powdered ultra high molecular weight polyethylene under the influence of pressure and heat to alter the morphology and molding characteristic of the material.
