PURPOSE:To simply adjust the laminating position of a protective label with respect to a label, by mounting a displacing means for displacing two base papers respectively having the protective label and the label temporarily bonded thereto in the thickness direction thereof. CONSTITUTION:The release base paper 18 of a label continuous body 16 is composed of a strip-like sheet material made of a synthetic resin and a release agent such as silicone is applied to the surface thereof and labels 20 are temporarily bonded thereto. The continuous body 16 is guided between a feed roller 26 and a nip roller 28 through a roller 22 and a guide roller 24 and protective labels 50 are temporarily bonded to the release base paper 48 of the continuous body 16 at a predetermined interval in the longitudinal direction. When a roller 22 is displaced in the direction shown by an arrow A, the continuous body 16 is displaced in a transfer direction and, when the roller 22 is displaced in the direction shown by an arrow B, said continuous body 16 is displaced in the return direction with respect to the transfer direction. A continuous body 46 is displaced in a transfer direction when a roller 54 is displaced in the direction shown by an arrow C and displaced in the return direction with respect to the transfer direction when the roller 54 is displaced in the direction shown by an arrow D. By this method a protective label 50 can be laminated to each of the label 20 of the label continuous body 16.
