PURPOSE:To obtain the titled Fe based sintered alloy having high density and transverse rupture strength and having wear resistance by dispersing FeMo hard grains having specific two-phase structure into a matrix of an Fe based sintered alloy contg. specific amounts of C and Mo at the specific areal ratio. CONSTITUTION:The FeMo hard grains having the two-phase structure of Fe-Mo intermetallic compounds and a ferrite phase are dispersed into the matrix of the Fe based sintered alloy contg., by weight, 0.3-2% C and 2-20% Mo at 3-30% areal ratio. The FeCr hard grains formed substantially of a single phase are furthermore dispersed into the matrix of the Fe based sintered alloy at need. The Fe based sintered alloy obtd. by these methods has the above- mentioned characteristics and moreover has less offensiveness against the mates thereof. The service life of the mate parts including that of said sliding parts can therefore be prolonged as well when the sleeve parts of a vane for a rotary compressor, etc., are produced by using said Fe based sintered alloy.
