PURPOSE:To display only the data of a patient on a monitor, by interrupting the monitor display provided by an ultrasonic image display system when only input data such as the data of the patient is displayed. CONSTITUTION:In a general use state, the ultrasonic image from an ultrasonic image generating part 2 and the character image from a character display and control part 6 are displayed on the screen of a monitor 3 in a superposed state. When only the data of a patient is desired to be displayed, an image blanking switch 4 is changed over to an OFF-state. When an input operating part 5 is operated in this state to input the objective data of the patient, this input data is subjected to imaging processing by the character display and control part 6 to be independently displayed on the monitor 3. In this case, when a change-over switch 8 is preliminarily connected to a character magnifying part 7, a magnified character image can be displayed.
