PURPOSE:To accurately compensate astigmatism with simple constitution by slanting and setting the optical axis of an optical system slantingly in a plane crossing the cemented surface of the semiconductor laser according to the astigmatism resulting from the projection position of laser light from the semiconductor laser. CONSTITUTION:The cemented surface 10 of a laser diode 2 which projects the laser light L is set in parallel to an X-Z plane. The laser light L consists of laser light L projected from a projection point S and laser light LY projected from a projection point M, and the projection point S is set at the focus position of a collimator lens 22. The collimator lens 22 where the laser light enters is rotated by an X axis by an angle omega and set, and consequently the convergence point (d) of laser light LX projected from the projection point S on the optical axis 21 can be aligned with the convergence point (e) of the laser light LY from the projection point M on the optical axis 21. In this case, the laser light is not eclipsed by the peripheral edge part of the optical system and the transmission efficiency of the laser light does not decrease.
