PURPOSE:To obtain a hair cosmetic, capable of providing smoothness without sticking to the hair damaged by perming, etc., eliminating looseness and imparting excellent coherency, by using a cationic surfactant with lanolin oil and a liquid oil having a branched structure together. CONSTITUTION:A hair cosmetic, obtained by blending (A) 0.05-10wt.%, especially 0.1-5wt.% cationic surfactant with (B) 0.05-10wt.%, especially 0.1-5wt.% lanolin oil and (C) 0.01-5wt.%, especially 0.05-2wt.% liquid oil having a branched structure, preferably an oil which is a liquid at ordinary temperature in 8-24C branched primary alcohols, 8-24C branched fatty acids and 14-38C branched esters as essential ingredients and capable of imparting sufficient smoothness and excellent coherency not only to the hair in the normal state but also to the hair damaged by a dryer, perming, bleaching, etc., and eliminating looseness without sticking thereto.
