PURPOSE:To confirm an image size after outputting during an image editing processing by providing an editing cursor to be shifted by a mouse different from a ruler cursor in an image processing system. CONSTITUTION:When a keying is made to a ruler cursor shifting key on a keyboard 2-1, it is displayed by the shifting of a vertical ruler cursor (1-2-5) in case of a right-left shifting key 2-7, and by the shifting of a horizontal ruler cursor (1-2-4) in case of an up-down shifting key (2-10). When the minimum data unit of an image is one dot and the minimum data unit of a displaying is one display picture element, and when an actual one unit length is 1mm and an image output density is (a) (dot/mm), a display picture element density is (b) (dot/display picture element), and the calibration unit of a ruler cursor is (c) (millimeter), the calibration width (d) (display picture element) of the ruler cursor on a displaying image is obtainable by d=ac/b.
