PURPOSE:To decrease a exclusive processing frequency to a shared data set by providing a projection data set having the same key as the shared data. CONSTITUTION:A control system for data set updating includes a diagnosis/ treatment account jog 2 for foreground jobs, a diagnosis/treatment account data file 1 for shared data sets which are updated by the job 2, a diagnosis/ treatment account DB updating job 3 for background jobs which are started with a updating request of the job 2, a DB4 which is updated by the job 3 based on the data read out of the file 1, and a diagnosis/treatment account projection file 11 serving as a projection file for the shared data which has the same key(patient ID) as the file 1 and undergoes the updating processing with addition of a updated flag when the DB4 is replaced by the job 3. In such a constitution, the exclusive processing frequency can be decreased for the shared data set of both foreground and background jobs. Then the screen response is improved for the foreground job.
