PURPOSE:To facilitate to retrieve a document even without knowing a document classification system beforehand by storing the classification system of a filing at the same time when an optical disk device is used as the filing device of a document. CONSTITUTION:An optical disk device is equipped with a classification system storing means to store the classification system of a prepared document as a large, medium, small classification and a title information image storing means to store the title information of a small classification to belong to a medium classification as an image record. When a classification system display key is inputted at the time of using the device, the classification system is displayed on a CRT screen. Under this display condition, when a pointing device 5 is operated and one of small classification items is selected and designated by a cursor mark, a designated document name list to belong to a small classification is displayed. When one of the lists is designated by a pointing device 5, the contents of a designated document are displayed.
