PURPOSE:To prevent illegal use of a memory card by recording an individual's signature on the memory card together with an identification number. CONSTITUTION:Information on the holder's signature is stored as time-series information on the memory card 1 in addition to the identification card, and those pieces of information are recorded at a memory card information storage part 3. When the result of collation by an identification number collation part 5 is coincident, the holder signs at a signature input part 8 by using an input pen 9. This signature information is stored in a signature storage part 10 in the form of time-series information and normalized by a normalization part 11, to collate the output with the signature pattern from the storage part 3 by a signature pattern collation part 12. The output of this collation is outputted from a data output part 6. Thus, the illegal use of the card is prevented.
