PURPOSE:To obtain a feed additive for ruminant, having excellent bypassing property of a biologically active substance through the rumen and releasability of the substance in the abomasum or following digestive tracts, by coating a core containing a biologically active substance with two specific kinds of coating films in two layers. CONSTITUTION:The objective feed additive for ruminant is produced by (1) coating a core containing a biologically active substance (e.g. lysine hydrochloride) with a 1st coating layer composed of a coating film (e.g. film of aminocelluloses) which is scarcely soluble in neutral or alkaline water and easily soluble in acidic water and (2) coating the 1st coating layer with a 2nd coating layer composed of one or more coating films selected from 12-24C straight- or branched-chain (un)saturated aliphatic monocarboxylic acid (e.g. stearic acid) containing lecithin and a glycerol fatty acid ester, a hardened vegetable oil (e.g. hardened castor oil), a hardened animal oil (e.g. hardened tallow) and a wax. |
