PURPOSE:To count a printing line number constantly at the same phase to conduct an effective correction, by setting a motor rotating shaft to have a phase constant to a printing synchronizing pulse. CONSTITUTION:A first sensor 2 is positioned so as to detect 72 slits formed on a peripheral part. A second sensor 3 is position so as to detect only the long slit X. The first sensor 2 detects the rotation of a rotating shaft 16 of a motor 14, and the second sensor 3 detects the phase of the rotating shaft 16. Namely, 72 pulses S are detected by the first sensor 2 for every rotation of the rotating shaft 16 of the motor 14. The pulses S are divided into 8 groups by a dividing circuit 4. A pulse S' from the second sensor serves as a reset pulse to the dividing circuit 4. Therefore, a printing synchronizing pulse T' outputted from the dividing circuit 4 constantly has the same phase to the rotating shaft 16 of the motor 14.
