PURPOSE:To eliminate the crosstalk from adjacent tracks so that a good reproduction signal is obtd. by providing superconductors in contact with a magnetic gap to the side faces of a magnetic core facing a recording medium. CONSTITUTION:The superconductors 3 consisting of Y-Ba-Cu-O are disposed in contact with the magnetic gap 2 on the side faces of the magnetic core 1 facing the magnetic recording medium. The superconductors 3 attain a superconducting state to have zero resistance and complete diamagnetism when this magnetic head is cooled down to <=8K. The entrance of the magnetic flux coming from the magnetic recording medium on the outside of the track width defined by the magnetic gap 2 from the side faces of the gap 2 is, therefore, eliminated by providing the superconductors 3 on the side faces of the magnetic core 1. The crosstalk is thereby eliminated and the good reproduction signal is obtd.
