PURPOSE:To express the knowledge having the time concept obtained when the knowledge is produced with high efficiency by separating knowledge into a predicate part and a time operator part to express the knowledge. CONSTITUTION:A knowledge storing means 1 stores knowledge 5 having the time concept containing a predicate part and a time operator part. A knowledge processing means 2 supplies a problem 8 having the time concept and applies the predicate and time operator parts of each knowledge 5 stored in the means 1 to the problem 8 to infer an answer 9. A status/status change prescribing knowledge storing means 3 prescribes whether the predicate part of each knowledge 5 shows a state or a state change in the form of a status/status change prescribing knowledge 6. A time interruption prescribing knowledge storing means 4 prescribes whether the prescription of the time and a time range of each knowledge 5 is interrupted or not in the forms a time interruption prescribed knowledge 7.
