PURPOSE:To prevent a receiving tone such as a bell, etc., from being rung, by operating a voice generating means and a line switching means when an incoming tone is detected, and setting a telephone circuit and a telephone set at a disconnection state transiently. CONSTITUTION:When an incoming signal is inputted in an on-hook state, an incoming signal detecting means 11 detects it, and the voice generating means 12 and the line switching means 13 are operated, and the telephone set is prevented from being rung by interrupting the telephone circuit, meanwhile, a voice is generated based on a content stored in a voice storage means 17. Also, an incoming display means 19 is operated as necessary, thereby, incoming call is informed visually. In such a way, it is possible to recognize a call by telephone generally even when a receiver is not in the vicinity of the telephone set, and to discriminate the telephone set receiving the call when plural telephone sets are used.
