PURPOSE:To provide an immunostimulant containing a lipopolysaccharide obtained from the cell of a bacterial strain belonging to Achromobacter stenohalis as an active component and useful as a remedy for human hepatitis A and B and viral diseases of animals, etc. CONSTITUTION:The objective immunostimulant contains a lipopolysaccharide obtained from the cell of a bacterial strain belonging to Achromobacter stenohalis as an active component. The above lipopolysaccharide can be produced by culturing Achromobacter stenohalis in an agar medium, etc., at 25-28 deg.C for 48hr preferably under shaking and aeration, collecting the bacterial cells and extracting with phenol-water mixture. The immunostimulant is preferably used in the form of injection produced by dissolving the active component in distilled water or physiological saline water, etc. The dose is preferably 10-30mug daily for adult and 1-15mug daily for dog or cat.
