CONSTITUTION:When plural communication operating means 1(terminal or station etc.) perform data communication in a ring network connected in a ring shape by duplicated ring transmission paths 2 and 3, each communication operating means decides whether or not the ring transmission path whether or not a fault is generated is disconnected by attaching discrimination information representing the passage of the frame on a prescribed area in a frame header to be transmitted in each communication operating means, and detecting whether or not its own discrimination information is attached on the frame to be received, and furthermore, by deciding whether or not the synchronizing signal inputted from the adjacent communication operating means is detected in addition to a decided result, the duplicated ring transmission paths are switched and connected in each communication operating means, and the transmission paths can be always connected in a loop shape by using two transmission paths even when the fault is generated in the transmission path on the middle way.
