HEAT INSULATING CUP AND ITS PREPARATION

PURPOSE:To provide a container having high design effect, generating no sliding or detachment between a container main body and a label and also excellent in strength by using a heat shrinkable polystyrenic resin foamed sheet as a base material and covering the same with a heat-shrinkable laminate sheet having a polystyrene film laminated thereto. CONSTITUTION:A polystyrenic resin foamed sheet becoming a base material has a thickness of 0.1-1mm and a heat-shrinkable laminate sheet is obtained by a method wherein a polystyrenic resin and additives are charged in a plastic foaming extruder and a foaming agent is introduced into the extruder under pressure while the resulting mixture is kneaded to extrude the heat-shrinkable polystyrenic resin foamed sheet which is, in turn, superposed on a heat- shrinkable printing film through a printing layer so that the shrinking directions of both of them coincide to be bonded thereto under heating and pressure. A heat-shrinkable sleeve 3 is formed from said sheet. A cup made of beads foamed polystyrene is covered with the sleeve 3 and allowed to stand in a hot air atmosphere to obtain a heat insulating cup wherein the laminate sheet based on the polystyrenic resin foamed sheet is closely bonded and fixed to the outer surface of the cup 4.
