PURPOSE:To omit the need for storage of all control information on a condition code register, etc., for all instructions, by reading each instruction of a program to be analyzed and recognizing the structure of the overall processing flow of the program prior to its processing. CONSTITUTION:When the architecture of a desired microcomputer is called out, an internal memory 4 of an analyzing device 1 stores the commands of an assembler language and a table of flags related to said commands. Then it is decided whether a program to be analyzed includes a branch instruction or not. If so, the corresponding instruction operand and its corresponding label name are retrieved. The row number containing the retrieved label name and the row number of the branch instruction are stored in the memory 4. The device 1 grasps the flow structure of a program list when the overall branch is analyzed for the program to be analyzed.
