PURPOSE:To provide an apparatus performing work for lining the interior of a container such as a cylindrical barrel having an expanded central part with moistureproof paper. CONSTITUTION:When the lining apparatus A suspended from an electromotive hoist 27 through a suspension metal jig 1 is allowed to fall, moistureproof paper P whose upper end part is folded back outwardly is wound around a plurality of connection shafts 12 by a worker M and the upper and lower end parts of the moistureproof paper P are grasped by clips 25, 26 (B). Next, the lining apparatus A is allowed to fall in a barrel C by the electromotive hoist 27. When the lining apparatus A almost enters the barrel C, the worker M detaches the upper folded-back end of the moistureproof paper from the moistureproof clip 26 to mount the same to the barrel C so as to wrap the upper end edge of the opening part of the barrel C (e). When the lining apparatus A is further allowed to fall, a castor 24 is brought into contact with the bottom of the barrel C and a support shaft 7 begins to relatively rise against a falling upper frame 3 and a support rod 18 protrudes the connection shafts 12 outwardly to bring the moistureproof paper P into close contact with the inner surface of the barrel C (f).
