PURPOSE:To equalize the distribution of intensity of illumination and to increase light quantity on a transmissive original placing table by diffusing a light beam directly proceeding from a tubular halogen bulb to the transmission original placing table by means of a light diffusion plate provided between said bulb and placing table. CONSTITUTION:The light diffusion plate 15 is provided between the tubular halogen bulb 2 and the transmissive original placing table 3 and set within the range of specified angle to the center of the tubular halogen bulb 2. The light beam which directly proceeds toward the transmissive original placing table 3 among the light beams radiated from a filament is diffused by the light diffusion plate 15 provided between the tubular halogen bulb 2 and the transmissive original placing table 3, so that a ripple phenomenon based on the difference of brightness between a light emission part and a non light emission part is reduced. And since the light beam proceeding to the reflection surface of a reflection mirror body is the light beam radiated from the filament, it is reflected from the focusing position of the reflection mirror body and the light quantity on an optical axis on the transmissive original placing table can be improved.
