PURPOSE:To enable always a proper speed stage control at the above system by making a constitution so as to determine the speed stage of an automatic speed changer on the basis of the operation quantity information of an artificial operation member expressing the volition of an operator and the speed information of a vehicle. CONSTITUTION:At an electronic control unit which controls the opening of a throttle valve by controlling a step motor 6 on the basis of an accelerator position sensor 10 detecting the operation quantity of an accelerator pedal and the output signal of a car speed sensor 15, a speed change control means 80 consisting of a speed change changeover control means 81, a power on and off decision means 82 and an hydraulic control means 83 or the like, is provided. The speed change changeover control means 81 is so constituted that it inputs the output signals of the accelerator position sensor 10, a transferred rib gear revolution number sensor (car speed sensor) 18A and a speed change information detecting means 18, and determines a speed change stage by the step-on quantity of an accelerator pedal and a car speed, and outputs a speed change changeover control signal to a shift control solenoid.
