The present invention relates to an automatic machine for preforming, filling and closing small boxes made from cardboard or a similar material delivered folded flat. This machine is characterised in that it comprises a rotary assembly 3 consisting of two circular horizontal plates, namely an upper plate 4 and a lower plate 5, having, at their periphery, respective housings 4a, 5a for receiving and holding an open small box, and a plurality of workstations A, B, C, D, E, F, G distributed regularly about the vertical axis of rotation of the rotary assembly 3, outside the latter, these workstations comprising a first station A for opening the small boxes 1, a second station B for loading and a plurality of successive stations C, D, E, F for folding flaps. <IMAGE>
