PURPOSE:To obtain a superconductor capable of sufficiently applying electrical and magnetic anisotropy and having highly practical use, by subjecting a superconducting raw material to gradually cooling treatment while retaining prescribed temperature distribution after heat melting treatment. CONSTITUTION:A raw material for superconductor is heated to high temperature to melt at least part thereof and the melted raw material is gradually cooled while retaining prescribed temperature distribution to provide the aimed superconductor. The melt treatment for melting the raw material can be also sifted to the succeeding gradually cooling treatment directly without melting part of the raw material. The raw material also can include powder of superconductor. The temperature for heating and melting the raw material is normally in the range of 1,000-1,600 deg.C, although it differs by mix ratio of the raw material and composition. The gradually cooling treatment is carried out in order to gradually cool the melted raw material in a prescribed temperature range and produce large crystal uniformly arranged in crystal direction. |
