PURPOSE:To supply cooling water to auxiliary machinery which cannot be stopped at the time of a regular inspection so that the maintenance thereof can be executed with equipment for cooling the auxiliary machinery of a nuclear power plant by installing a bypass piping between a cooling system of the auxiliary machinery for normal service and emergency service and a cooling system of the auxiliary machinery to be exclusively used for the normal service. CONSTITUTION:Heat exchangers 6a, 6b of the cooling system of the auxiliary machinery for the normal and emergency service are connected via a cooling water supply piping 1 to the auxiliary machinery 2 for the normal service and the auxiliary machinery 3 for the emergency service which are connected from the outlet side via a return piping 4 to the heat exchangers 6a, 6b. The cooling system for the auxiliary machinery to be used exclusively for the normal use is also constituted in the same manner in which a supply piping 10 is connected to the auxiliary machinery 12 for the normal service and a ventilation air conditioner 11. Said machinery is connected from the outlet side thereof to a return piping 13. The pipings 1 and 10 of the auxiliary machinery 2 and the air conditioner 11 are connected by the bypass supply piping 19 and the return pipes 14 and 13 of the outlet side are connected by the bypass return piping 20. The maintenance is thereby executed without stopping the air conditioner 11 at the time of the periodic inspection.
