Relatively flat co-planar panels are fixed to the ends of a handle, each with a circular surface area to resist movement through water. Each panel includes a pair of relatively rigid, coaxial discs in face to face engagement. Each disc has a hub and an outer ring. Sector spoke members radiate outwardly from the hub at equal angles to each other, connecting the hub to the outer ring and forming sector openings in the discs. One of the discs is rotatable relative to the other to vary the registration of sector openings in one of the discs with openings in the other, to adjust the degree of resistance to movement of each of the panels through water. The disc is releasably secured in a selected one of a series of positions relative to the other so that the relative degree of resistance to the movement is visually indicated and can quickly be varied. The handle is gripped at any location around the periphery so that the panels can be moved through water in any plane from parallel to it to normal to it, to vary their resistance to movement through water. |
