PURPOSE:To simplify the circuit constitution of a read/drive integrated circuit by reducing the amount of shifting of a shift register to 1/n, and designating in order photoelectric convertion elements one after one. CONSTITUTION:If the value of (n) is two, a shift pulse inputed to the shift register SRi is such one as generated by frequency-dividing a clock LCK to half by means of a T-flip-flop T-FF. Accordingly, the shift register SRi can designate two pieces of the photoelectric conversion elements Pb simultaneously by its Qi-output. As a result, approximately 45% of the elements in number can be reduced.
