PURPOSE:To prevent a failure in gathering due to timing deviation of the gathering time by setting the waiting time for which a computer waits to start gathering of worker employment data in another position after gathering worker employment data in one position, to a computer system in accordance with the difference of closing time between two positions. CONSTITUTION:Worker employment data is successively gathered by a personal computer 1 through telephone circuit 12 and MODEMs 11 and 13. A dialing time T0 is set to an online time recorder 2 whose data is first gathered, and a waiting time T1 for which the computer 1 waits to dial a time recorder 3 after gathering employment data from the recorder 2 is set to the computer in accordance with the difference of closing time between both offices. Waiting times T2, T3... for which the computer 1 waits to dial following recorders after gathering employment data recorded on time recorders 3, 4... are set respectively. Thus, a failure in data gathering does not occur and employment data of all workers can be gathered.
