PURPOSE:To reduce the heat receiving area of a fuel supplying device in an engine having plural independent suction passages extending from one side surface of an engine body and curving upwardly, by offsetting the independent suction passages away from a fuel pressure regulating means in a direction of arrangement of cylinders. CONSTITUTION:A surge tank 3 consisting of first and second surge tanks 4 and 5 is arranged on one side surface 1a of an engine body 1 of a straight 4-cylinder engine in such a manner as to extend along a direction of arrangement of cylinders. The first surge tank 4 is connected to suction ports through an intake manifold 8 forming first independent long suction passages 6 curving upwardly, while the second surge tank 5 is connected through second independent short suction passages 7 to the suction ports. Each suction pipe 9 of the intake manifold 8 is provided at its downstream position with a fuel injector 15. The upstream portion of each suction pipe 9 is offset away from a fuel pressure regulating means 17 in the direction of arrangement of the cylinders. |
